Lessons

We cater for novice to advanced riders both children and adults; classes and private lessons. We would love to discuss any requirements you may have and can tailor lessons to your individual needs where necessary.

We do children’s lessons Saturday and Sunday at various times and these lessons require prebooking. Lessons cost £27.00 for an hour group.

We hire you the safety standard helmet free of charge and ask your daughter wears a shoe/boot with a small heal for safety.  Please Google jodpur boots so you can get an idea of similar suitable footwear.

Children have a leader to accompany them until they can walk & trot independently.

We are happy to teach riding for the disabled and find this very rewarding and achieve good results. Groups of friends can be catered for by a private booking. In addition, we teach schools as part of their extra curricular activities and scout and brownie groups working towards their riding badges.

We have a 72 hour cancellation policy on all bookings.  Any ‘no shows’ or late cancellations will be required to pay £15 for the missed lesson before any further lessons can be booked. We don’t have a card machine so cash only please.

No unauthorised visitors to the yard or wondering around to look at the horses.

Please find attached a link to the necessary risk assessments for riding schools.

ADULT PRIVATE LESSONS

We can offer you a 1-2-1 lesson so you can work on your own personal level of riding.  We do adult private lessons Monday to Friday, first lesson time is 9am and last lesson time is 7pm.

Private lessons cost:-

£30 for 30 minutes

£35 for 45 minutes

£45 for 60 minutes

Your first initial lesson requires prepayment via bank transfer to secure the booking.  We also have a 48 hour cancellation policy on all bookings.

EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS

Horses have a lower core body temperature to us so struggle more in the heat than cold temperatures.  Our horses well being is paramount and so is our volunteers so in extreme hot weather there will be changes to lesson lengths and the content maybe different to usual days.  Please be patient and understanding of these necessary changes.

PONY DAYS

One of our most popular days. Pony Days are not only a great introduction to riding but also to the responsibilities of owning a horse, with stable management, care and safety sessions forming part of the day. Children participating are assigned their own pony to ride and care for throughout the day and are supervised at all times. These days provide a valuable insight for those wishing to progress further and maybe own their own pony in the future.

If your child is a member of the Pony Club the information they receive on the Pony Day can help towards their Grooming and Saddlery Badge's.

All Pony Days require a £25 non-redundable deposit payable upon booking.

All riding courses require a non refundable deposit to secure the booking.

Hacking

We have wonderful surrounding countryside with quiet country lanes, local bridleways and plenty of off road riding. Riding will be assessed before we will take riders out on a hack to ensure the safety of both the rider and the horse. Pub hacks for groups are held during the summer months for experienced riders.

Pony Camp

During the school summer holidays we hold a pony camp which covers all aspects of stable management, riding including dressage, jumping, and gymkhana competitions and we also have a picnic ride.  All the kids have a fantastic time and has proved to be a great hit.  Booking is essential as places go fast.
